MEN:MARS, WOMEN:VENUS and other news
I'm sorry this has been so late in coming, but since our "little" fight last week, we decided to spend some time apart. Okay, not really. (You can e-hit me later.) :D Thanks to everyone for your comments. It's great to get a man's point of view on this kind of thing. That perspective was definitely required in this situation, and Alisa, thank god we have blogs!
As you might have guessed, it was as you all said it would be. The next morning, it was all hugs and kisses and snuggling. This was all before I had a chance to read any of your comments. I appreciated the gesture and its sentiment, but I still felt like there was a huge weight. We talked, and we both agreed that there was a miscommunication about the not talking part, but more importantly, we discussed our growing apart in the last few years. We both agreed that we want that to stop, and we decided to try to communicate more with eachother.
Part of it was stress too. I was trying to get some photos for a jeweler done, and I was really frustrated with my creative process. She wanted a specific look for all her photos, and at times, it felt like trying to get a square peg into a round hole, but in the end, I gave her a CD with about 80 medium-res images. She was extremely happy with the results. That's also why I haven't blogged in so long.
Aside from being busy with the job, I've decided to expend a great deal of energy trying to make a living as a photographer. I'm going to focus on jewelry photography and some stock magazine photography to start. To that end, I've been spending a lot of time putting together promotional mailers, prospect lists, getting a domain name, etc. I'll probably need a web designer in the near future, so if you know anyone good, (preferrably someone that can work in Flash), comment with their URL. Conversely, if you know someone that needs photography work, I'm available!
